Nordic Walking in Seville
There are so many benefits to our group Nordic Walking holidays, from engaging your core and supporting your joints to reconnecting with yourself and becoming immersed in beautiful landscapes. Because of this, we knew we had to find the perfect place to launch our new Nordic Walking weeks – locations that would inspire, offer stunning scenery and have the right terrain for our daily sessions.
For us, there’s nowhere quite like Sierra de Huelva, a mountainous region in the western part of Andalusia, just an hour away from the vibrant city of Seville. Think undulating hills for as far as the eye can see, covered in lush forest, flora and fauna, interspersed with Mediterranean pastures. Three main rivers are running through this section of Andalusia, Ribera del Chanza, Múrtigas and Ribera de Huelva, which provide idyllic scenes to walk beside.
A uniquely charming feature of this region is the smattering of traditional, white-washed villages that cling to the hillsides. Their terracotta roofs stand out against the surrounding greenery, and during our walks we’ll explore those closest to our accommodation, treading centuries-old cobbled streets and marvelling at the ornate churches in the town centres. It’s a rare chance to see a completely different type of life, with historic traditions that have been preserved since before the Romans. Culture, history, art – it’s all here for you to experience.
Your home for the week will be Villa Rio Tinto, a traditional, family-owned farmhouse surrounded by 1000 acres of land. Stand-out features include those views, looking out over the stretching Jabugo region, an outdoor pool and lovely décor, like carved, four-poster beds. Experienced Pilates and Nordic Walking instructor will be leading daily sessions across the week, helping you to feel happy and healthy with a mix of low-impact exercise, plenty of toning and stretching.
It wouldn’t be a Flavours holiday without fantastic food and drinks, so while we’ll be looking after our bodies, we won’t be neglecting our tastebuds, either! After all, it’s all about balance. Your local, private chef will be whipping up authentic Spanish cuisine for you every day. We particularly love evenings spent enjoying a glass of sparkling wine as the sun sets over the hills.

Holiday Itinerary
Day 1 - Group transfer to the villa.
Meet your host and the rest of the group at Seville airport, and be whisked away in the pre-arranged transfer – from this moment on, you won’t need to think about a thing! Arrive at the beautiful Villa Rio Tinto, greeted by welcome drinks and a chance to chat with your fellow Flavours guests. Enjoy a light lunch at the villa, before some free time to unpack, lie by the pool, or relax with a book. That evening, dinner will be served at the villa with more drinks, and plenty of time to socialise.
Day 2 - Morning Pilates by the pool, getting acquainted with Nordic walking poles
We’ll wake up nice and early to embrace a morning session of Pilates by the pool, followed by breakfast together at the villa. After breakfast, your instructor will size up your Nordic Walking poles and chat through this afternoon’s route. After lunch at the villa, it’s time for our first Nordic Walk which will be around the farmland and extensive grounds. Worked up an appetite? Good! After some downtime, meet the other guests for pre-dinner drinks on the terrace, and then it’s time for another home-cooked dinner at the villa.
Day 3 - Longer walk to Rio Tinto
Buen día! It’s another first-thing Pilates session with your instructor before a well-earned coffee and breakfast at the villa. Don’t get too comfortable though, once everyone’s ready it’s time to take our poles on a longer walk to Rio Tinto, a hillside town named after its nearby river. Here, we’ll enjoy an authentic, local lunch before retracing our steps back. After some free time, we’ll enjoy a few drinks and another freshly-made meal thanks to your private chef.
Day 4 - Nordic walking session to Los Marines, with optional massage on your return
We’re sure that by now you’re coming to expect those early-morning Pilates sessions, so meet your instructor with your mat, before chatting with the other guests over breakfast. This morning, our Nordic Walking session will take us to Los Marines, an idyllic hamlet snuggled in the heart of the Sierra de Huelva mountain range. We’ll return to the villa for lunch and then there’s the option to add a massage to your holiday package and really treat yourself, or just take the time to relax. Meet everyone for a glass of wine pre-dinner, before seeing what the chef has cooked for you that evening.
Day 5 - Nordic walk to Aracena
Enjoy your morning Pilates session with your instructor before eating breakfast with the group. After which, it’s time to grab your poles and set off for our starting point, which today will be Aracena, a gorgeous little town famous for its underground caves and hidden subterranean lakes. From here, we’ll follow a route to another town, Linares de Sierra, before heading back for lunch at a local restaurant. That evening, enjoy your usual drinks and dinner at the villa.
Day 6 - Visit to Seville, taking in the sights
As we near the end of our trip, we couldn’t let you go home without seeing Seville. After your morning Pilates session and breakfast, get ready to travel to Seville and see the sights. We’ll visit the famous Plaza de Espana which has featured in films like Lawrence of Arabia and Star Wars. We’ll wander through the creative Santa Cruz quarter, before stopping for lunch at our favourite little taberna. That afternoon, you’re free to wander the city and explore, before returning to the villa for drinks and dinner.
Day 7 - Last day's walk followed by a relaxing meal at the villa.
For our final day of the holiday, we’ll be starting with morning Pilates and breakfast, before heading out one last time. We’ll enjoy a scenic route across this stunning province, taking lunch with us, before heading back to the villa for a last chance to relax before dinner. Cheers with a glass of Cava to our last evening, before tucking into another delicious, homemade meal.
Day 8 - Transfer back to the airport
After a farewell breakfast, it’s time to transfer back to Seville airport, where you’ll wait for your flight home. See you next time!
