Travelling on your own can maybe sound daunting at the beginning. Malty, one of our solo travellers, has just recently come back from his Flavours’ cooking holiday in Tuscany and already booked his next trip to Puglia with us. As an experienced & independent traveller he can only encourage people to go on solo traveller holidays. Flavours asked about his holiday in Tuscany and he kindly shared his experience with us to encourage all the people still unsure about a holiday for single people.
Flavours: What did you enjoy most about your Flavours’ holiday?
All of it! Great place, super trips out, lovely people etc.
Flavours: What did you think about the help and support our Flavours’ team provided before and during your holiday?
The office team were very helpful and the team in Tuscany were first class and everyone was good at making sure we all got the best out of our time in Tuscany.
Flavours: What advice can you give to people going on solo traveller holidays for the first time?
Simply do it!! This was the first organised holiday I have taken. I have always been an independent traveller. Ciaran and the rest of the office team gave the reassurance I needed. I am so pleased I did it. Within a few hours of meeting everyone at Pisa airport it felt like a bunch of old friends meeting up for a get together. And the REAL bonus – no single supplement!!! Well done Flavours. We need the rest of the travel industry to learn from your excellent example.
Flavours: What are the perks of travelling solo?
I don’t know if perks is a good word, maybe it is. I have been on my own for seven years and miss the sharing aspect of a partner. That said, the friendship and participation was great and the word solo soon disappeared from the vocabulary.
Flavours: How would you sum up your holiday in one sentence?
I enjoyed it so much that within two days of returning I booked a second trip and I am really looking forward to it roll on Puglia in September.
Thank you very much for telling us about your experiences and we hope you’ll enjoy your next cooking holiday just as much!
