New worlds open up when you become a Bondholder…
Launched in 1983 by two Suffolk families, the Holiday Property Bond was a revolutionary new holiday product: an alternative to timeshare, offering holidaymakers affordable, consistently high-quality holidays in an ever-increasing range of fabulous locations.
By becoming an HPB Bondholder you will discover a refreshing new approach to the way you plan and enjoy your breaks. You will have the opportunity to stay in beautiful places, enjoy magical experiences, and forge lifelong friendships.
In fact, that’s what more than 40,000 families have already done!
Elizabeth McCalla became a Bondholder 18 years ago when her children were in their teens. “I was widowed when Ben and Sarah were two and five. It was hard, and holidays took a back seat,” says Elizabeth. “But as they got older I started to think more about all the lovely places we were missing out on. Then by chance, I overheard some work colleagues talking about the Holiday Property Bond and I thought it sounded really interesting; I took a closer look and was really impressed with the wonderful choice of locations in the UK and abroad, many with free on-site facilities, perfect for the kids. So I took the plunge and became a Bondholder. Typical teenagers though, they weren’t interested in going away with Mum, preferring to be with their friends, so I holidayed on my own, with my friends or with other family members.”
Over the years Elizabeth has made the most of her Bond, visiting almost all of the sites. “I love the fantastic variety and range of high-quality properties, so sensitively developed and set in such beautiful locations. I’m a keen walker and there are so many opportunities to get out and about and enjoy the countryside. The staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful, providing local information and recommended walking routes.”
Asked if she has a favourite Bond site: “El Balcón de Santa Ana in La Gomera,” Elizabeth answers.
“It was the first one I ever visited and it’s simply stunning. The sea views are spectacular and the botanical gardens are truly exotic – it’s like being in paradise. Unlike the other Canaries the island is so unspoilt and charming. I also love Askrigg; the sound of the curlew, the great walks right on your doorstep and the joy of sitting on the bench at the top of the garden overlooking Addlebrough, with a gin and tonic – bliss!”
Fast-forward 10 years and Elizabeth’s children begin to show an interest in their Mum’s holidays.
“Funny that,” she says. “Now they’re grown up, they can’t wait to come away with me! They absolutely love HPB,” she laughs.
An investment in holidays
As a Bondholder you can choose from more than 1,500 exclusive holiday properties in over 30 UK and European destinations. Many sites have an excellent range of free-to-use facilities, such as swimming pools, tennis courts, and clubhouses, and some have their own restaurant.
For an initial payment of as little as £5,000, you will be allocated Holiday Points that you can use every year to book your holiday.
You can then holiday year after year with HPB, as your Holiday Points are reissued every year for life. You can even pass the benefits on to your children and grandchildren, so they can enjoy plenty of fabulous getaways, too.
Solo together
At HPB, we believe that being on your own shouldn’t hold you back from having a great holiday, which is why we created the Bond Companions Club (BCC). By becoming a Bondholder and joining the BCC, you can take your pick from a range of holidays designed to help solo holidaymakers meet up and make new friends. The Club arranges short breaks each month to different locations in the UK and around 20 holidays a year to HPB sites.
Continued growth and looking to the future
Since 1983, the Bond has weathered repeated cycles of ‘boom and bust’. Expansion has been faster in some years than others, but HPB has never stopped growing and the portfolio continues to expand – Northway Court, our new site in North Devon, opened recently and another in Northern Ireland is due for completion later this year.
Inflation protection
Thanks to this, you can look forward to the same level of high-quality holiday entitlement for the whole of your lifetime. The booking power of your investment is fixed and protected for the long term, no matter what happens to inflation.
Peace of mind
Much as we might wish otherwise, holidays aren’t always plain sailing. But if problems occur, HPB does what it always does, responding quickly to rapidly changing conditions and circumstances, managing the situation, and ensuring that Bondholders don’t lose out. After all, holidays are one of life’s pleasures – especially when you know high standards are guaranteed and that assistance (should you need it) is only ever a phone call away. You can relax, knowing HPB is here to help.
