Holidays in Andalusia, Spain
One of Spain’s largest regions, Andalusia stretches right down to the south coast and combines stunning areas of countryside with some of the country’s most exciting cities. It also benefits from wonderful weather all year round, meaning that al fresco dining and beach visits are a must in Andalusia.
The region is also packed full of gorgeous white villages hidden amongst the hills, which provide breathtaking scenic views and are bursting with rustic charm. Meanwhile, Andalusia’s cities provide a chance to explore numerous historic sites; Seville’s Alcázar is the oldest European palace still in use today, while Ronda’s Puente Nuevo is one of Spain’s most impressive bridges.
The food of Andalusia is focused around simple ingredients, with tapas being particularly popular in the region and fresh seafood regularly making its way onto your plate the day its caught. The region is also famously the home of churros – deep-fried doughy snacks which are then lathered in chocolate – the perfect accompaniment to a coffee while absorbing the afternoon sun.
