The chapel at Palacete de Cazulas – Andalusia, Spain (£49)
“This painting is a sketch of the chapel at Palacete de Cazulas, in Andalusia, Spain. Entering the chapel through the heavy wooden doors, I felt the presence of countless others who found peace here; one automatically speaks in hushed tones. It is enchanting. The painting is in ink and watercolour.”

The historic Palacete de Cazulas – Andalusia, Spain (£49)
“The painting is of the historic Palacete de Cazulas, a peaceful, restorative retreat. While I relished the tranquillity and the Andalusian sun, I was most inspired by the lush garden that included palms, fruit trees, conifers, Bougainvillea, and countless other botanicals. The painting is ink and watercolour on paper.”

Draw people like ‘carrots’ – Seville, Spain (£69)
“A quick painting in watercolour with some indelible ink after our day in Seville sketching with Jaclyn in October 2022. She had been showing us how to draw people like ‘carrots’! so this is an example. The colours of the clothing on the figures, yellow and bright pink are an homage to the cape used to distract the bull in bullfights, the one which is yellow and fuschia, given that the biggest and most important bullring in Spain is in Seville. Or maybe the lady in pink is a latter-day Carmen, out for a fly ciggie?! “

Plaza de Espana – Seville, Spain (£49)
“A quick felt pen/indelible ink and watercolour image of the Plaza de Espana in Seville after I returned home in October 2022. It illustrates the usage of a limited colour palate in order to give a quick impression of a scene and is a technique which can be used on location, especially on Flavours holidays! I was also thinking of the watery scenes from Venice with the canals, bridges and gondolas, hence the water under the bridge looks very watery! “

Palacete the Cazulas – Granada, Spain (£49)
“This is the Palacete the Cazulas painted in October 2019 on the Granada painting trip under the tutelage of Mark Holden. However, I had also been attending the in-person/online classes with Jaclyn Stuart of Eden Art in St Andrews, Fife and she had been focussing on perspective, so this was a study in perspective principally from Jaclyn’s classes in Fife. It is a watercolour with some pen marks too. Also, a little bit of avant-garde usage of tape which you might notice! “
