Patrick Nicholas
Patrick Nicholas studied Fine Art for two years at Art School in Oxford and London, before graduating from the Polytechnic of Central London in Photographic Arts in 1977. He worked for a while in the film business before moving to Italy in the early eighties, where he has lived and worked ever since as a still photographer. He started as a humble beach photographer near Rimini until he opened a photography studio specialising in advertising photography, still-life, fashion, and portraiture in Bologna in 1988.
He has long experience in black and white photography, firstly in the darkroom and subsequently in digital. In 2007 he moved to the small Umbrian city of Orvieto to start a picture gallery specialising in fine art, landscape, and portrait photography. He also runs his own photo workshops in the Umbrian-Tuscan countryside called Camera Etrusca.
He has had his art photographs published all over the world in a variety of magazines from The South China Morning Post to The Sunday Times magazine.
