Italian Cooking Holidays in Venice
Venice, like all other regions in Italy, has its own food specialities. Cookery holidays to Venice and the Veneto region offer a wonderful opportunity to explore the culinary traditions of the region. Obviously, due to the proximity to the sea, there are a large selection of seafood dishes to choose from.
Not only is the lagoon known for its fresh seawater dishes, there are also an interesting number of inland fresh fish dishes. Preserving fish either by marinating them or keeping them in salt water was a very common technique that still continues to this day.
Day in Venice was fabulous – trip back on the water taxi along the Grand Canal is a memory I will always treasure.

Our villa is a beautiful Venetian manor house situated near the small town of Treviso. Dating back to the 1500s, the villa has a rich history and sumptuously decorated rooms. Cooking Holiday in Venice - Itinerary
Day 1 - Benvenuti! Arrival in Venice & group transfer to villa.
Benvenuti! Welcome to the Veneto! Our Flavours transfer will meet you at Marco Polo Airport upon arrival. Once you arrive at the villa, you can settle in, meet your host and enjoy welcome drinks. Dinner tonight at the villa, prepared by your chef.
Day 2 - Enjoy your first cooking lesson and relax in the afternoon.
After breakfast you will have your first hands-on cookery lesson with the chef, followed by lunch. In the afternoon you’ll have the afternoon to relax before dinner at the villa.
Day 3 - Cooking Lesson and Prosecco Tasting
After breakfast, you will return to the villa for another hands-on cookery lesson and you will enjoy your dishes for lunch. Later in the afternoon, you will visit a nearby vineyard for a Prosecco tasting and then it’s back to the villa later for dinner.
Day 4 - Visit Treviso's fish market and explore this stunning town
This morning you will visit the charming town of Treviso with its canals and cobbled streets not to mention it is the birthplace of Tiramisu. Have a wander through the market then return to the villa for lunch. This afternoon you’ll have your fourth cookery lesson, followed by dinner.
Day 5 - Discover stunning Venice on your day trip.
Following breakfast, our transfer will collect the group and take you to Venice. Here you will have the day at your leisure to wander around this stunning city. Whether you choose to explore the mysterious passageways by foot or float along the maze of canals, Venice offers an abundance of stunning architecture and breath-taking views – don’t miss the Basilica di San Marco or the hustle and bustle of the Rialto food market. Enjoy lunch at a typical Bacaro in the heart of the city. Later this afternoon, you will return to the villa for dinner.
Day 6 - Another cookery lesson followed by a trip to Treviso
This morning is your fourth cookery lesson, followed by lunch. The afternoon will be spent in the charming town of Treviso. Explore the historic town centre before dinner in our favourite local trattoria.
Day 7 - Enjoy your final cooking lesson followed by a special farewell dinner at the villa.
After breakfast, you will have your final cookery lesson and lunch. Spend your last afternoon relaxing at the villa and in the evening, enjoy a special farewell dinner prepared by your chef.
Day 8 - Transfer to Marco Polo Airport. Arrivederci!
After breakfast some time to pack before our transfer will collect you and take you back to Marco Polo Airport for your fight home. Arrivederci!

It was all good, the lessons were great. The small group was great.
As a regular painter in normal life I've always chosen painting! But I loved every minute of kitchen experience. This was mainly due to the professionalism and generosity of Vanessa. The villa is exceptional and we were encouraged to use it all! I spread my art stuff on 2nd floor table and had 8 foot of table to myself! It started raining on the Tuesday and kept it up til we left! Surprisingly this didn't bother me as there was so much useable, comfortable space for us to spread out in! The group within main villa were great and we all became pretty friendly straight away! For me success of this venue was down to the host. Vanessa looked after us beautifully! Even bringing a light up to my temporary studio!!
I had a wonderful time in Treviso with the Flavours cooking group. Very pleasant people and interesting conversation. Best of all was our instructor and Villa owner, Vanessa. She is remarkable and very talented. She is so patient and answers every question. Her teaching is clear and very professional. I have had other cooking courses in Europe and she was by far the most sympathetic and her recipes were so good. The dinners she prepare were also wonderful. What a fantastic week!
